das.Brett clear lacquered with cork – easy-care & floor-friendly

das.Brett clear lacquered with cork combines a durable, easy-to-clean surface with two cork strips on the underside. This makes it particularly suitable for daycare centres, schools, classes, practices and other facilities where the board is regularly used by different people.

The cork strips also make this version a good choice for hard and smooth indoor floors such as parquet, other wooden floors or tiles. They help protect both the floor and the underside of the board, reduce noise while rocking and provide additional grip.

The Difference: Its Elastic Flex

One of the distinctive features of das.Brett is its noticeable flex. Thanks to its special construction from eleven layers of beech veneer, the board is stable while remaining elastic. It gives slightly under load – similar to a snowboard.

Instead of feeling rigid, it has a pleasantly springy feel. At the same time, das.Brett responds to shifts in body weight with subtle movements that constantly need to be balanced. This effect is particularly noticeable for adults and makes balancing especially dynamic.

For Kids & Adults

Kids tend to explore das.Brett intuitively: wobbling, balancing, sitting, lying down or incorporating it into their own movement games. Its simple shape leaves plenty of room for imagination and different ways to move.

Adults can use das.Brett for balance training, coordination, stability exercises, fitness and yoga. At a standing desk, it also adds movement to an otherwise static working position.

In this way, das.Brett can accompany different stages of life – from open-ended movement play in childhood to balance and fitness training for adults.

Clear Lacquered – Durable & Easy to Clean

The transparent finish keeps the characteristic grain of the beech wood visible while creating a durable and particularly easy-care surface. Dirt and marks can be quickly wiped away with a damp cloth.

This is especially practical when das.Brett is used frequently or by different people. After classes, training sessions or use in facilities, the surface can be cleaned quickly and easily.

Technically, the finish is not a conventional lacquer. We use a hard oil with lacquer-like properties that creates a resistant surface after application. The term “clear lacquered” therefore primarily describes the appearance and practical properties of this version.

Each das.Brett is sanded and finished by hand in our Leipzig workshop. The individual grain and structure of the beech wood remain visible, giving every board its own character.

Cork Strips – Floor Protection, Grip & Reduced Noise

Two cork strips on the underside help protect hard and sensitive floors from direct contact with the wood while also helping to protect the underside of das.Brett from signs of use.

The cork also reduces noise while rocking and balancing. On smooth surfaces, it provides additional grip and helps reduce slipping – useful for anyone who prefers a little more stability while balancing.

The combination of an easy-care finish and cork underside makes this version especially suitable for indoor spaces where das.Brett is used frequently and where floor protection, grip and reduced noise are particularly important.
